Bodywork for Children
Children are affected by the world around them, they carry tension, react to household stress, social stress etc. they get injured, and experience trauma just like adults. Bodywork is an effective health care tool no matter how young or old. Early intervention and maintenance contribute to more resiliency in the future. Most children feel comfortable with the idea around 3 years and up. There are practitioners who specialize in craniosacral therapy and osteopathic techniques for infants, but we do not provide care for infants at this time.
Bodywork for children is based on what the child needs at the time, it could be any combination of massage, myofascial release, craniosacral or visceral manipulation. These therapies work to increase body awareness, promote relaxation, support recovery from injury and improve digestion.
Sessions range from ten minutes to one hour depending on the child. See our blog post for more information on the value and benefits of therapy for your children.
